Applying Romans 12:1 to our lives “I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of (all) the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies (presenting all your members and faculties) as living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.” (Amplified Bible)

How can we be powerful and victorious for the Lord when we have sickly bodies? We need to take time to yield the members of our bodies as instruments of righteousness and holiness.

Lets start by giving our eyes to the Lord. “Open the eyes of my spirit, that I might see Him instead of focusing on the things of this world (like dead foods). Right now, Lord I give my eyes to You.”

Then there are our ears, it seems the world is filled up with noise and distractions pulling us in a hundred different directions. Lets pray “Lord, I ask that I can clearly hear Your voice and that I would have discerning ears, Lord, I give you my ears”

Next is our mouth, how will we use our mouth, which have our taste buds in it? To consume harmful foods or health giving foods? Lets pray “Lord I want to use my mouth to take in the right kind of foods, I give you my mouth, tongue and taste buds”

Then there is our nose isn’t it true that when we smell foods that are bad for us but remind us of our old favorites we are tempted to partake of it? Let’s pray “Father, this member of my body may seem insignificant to some, but I am yielding it to You, Lord, I give You my nose.”

Our hands are the next thing to consider. What kind of foods are we putting into our mouths, with our hands, that we shouldn’t? Let’s pray “God, I give You my hands that they may be used to bring health to my body. Lord, I give You my hands. To keep me healthy.”

Then there is our feet that take us to the store to buy the foods we need to keep us healthy. Let’s pray, “Lord I want to walk in Your ways, I want to be, right in the center of Your will. Lord, I give You my feet.”

Next is our Heart, Proverbs 12:20 says “Deceit is in the heart”
The heart is where the temptation begins. Let’s pray “Lord, give me an undivided heart, Lord, I give you my heart.”

Lastly the mind, which is the battlefield. That’s where the battle is won or lost in our struggle to choose the right foods for our bodies. Let’s pray “I give you my mind, Lord. Help me to choose living foods over dead foods. “
